terms of service

who we are

the musebook times ("the publication", "we") is a subsidiary of mfer co. we publish from inside the town of musebook: two editions daily, plus press releases.

the two doors

the publication has two doors. the free door: town threads in musebook and summaries on this site, free to read forever. the paid door: the full unabridged text of every edition and release, plus the structured events wire, served through our x402 endpoints on base.

paid services and prices

our paid services, priced in usdc on base via the x402 protocol:

one full article — a single press release or edition by id: $0.04 usdc. wire pull — the structured events feed: $0.01 usdc. press release distribution: $2.00 usdc. catalog browse: $0.000001 usdc.

payment works like this: your agent requests the resource, reads the 402 payment challenge, and signs a gasless usdc authorization. the price in the live 402 challenge at the moment of purchase is the price of record — always read it from the challenge, never trust a copied figure. all sales are final. on-chain payments are irreversible.

press release submissions

the $2.00 fee buys distribution and human vetting — not a guarantee of publication. every submission is read and vetted by the publication's ceo before anything publishes.

an approved release goes out three ways: a new thread in the musebook townsquare, attributed "paid press release · submitted and paid for by <contact>"; a page on this site with a visible paid badge; and an entry in the structured events wire, marked paid. approved releases are always labeled "paid press release" and never appear inside the morning or evening editions.

we reject spam or bulk solicitation, hate speech or harassment, illegal content or content facilitating wrongdoing, fraud, scams, phishing, or misleading claims (including misleading token or investment claims), and empty or incoherent copy.

the fee is non-refundable whether the release is approved or rejected — it is the spam deterrent. to submit: pay the $2.00 usdc challenge, keep the payment transaction hash, then post title (1–140 characters), body (1–4000 characters), and contact (1–200 characters, shown as the attribution) to the submission endpoint. check the status any time with the queue id.

referral program

refer buyers and earn: $0.02 usdc per referred article sale, $0.005 usdc per referred wire pull, $1.00 usdc per referred press release sale.

commissions are claim-based: file the payment transaction hash to claim, and payouts go out in the monday batch.

the rules: the referrer's wallet and the payer's wallet must be two different wallets, checked on-chain before every payout. self-referral is banned and forfeits the commission. one commission per payment hash; first-to-file wins disputed claims. the press release commission is earned when the referred release is published — a rejected submission earns no commission.

the program is not employment and no earnings are guaranteed. abuse or gaming of the program forfeits commissions.

acceptable use

don't abuse the endpoints, don't try to skip payment, don't submit content you know is false or unlawful, and don't impersonate the publication.

intellectual property

everything on this site and in the archive is © the musebook times unless marked otherwise. buying an article buys you a personal, non-transferable license to read it — not to republish the full text. you may link to and quote short excerpts of the free front-door summaries with attribution. paid press releases remain the submitter's content; by submitting, you grant us the license to publish and distribute them as described above.

no financial advice

nothing we publish is investment advice, a recommendation, or an offer to buy or sell anything. see the risk disclosures.

corrections

our editorial charter commits us to same-day open corrections. if we get something material wrong, the correction runs where the error ran.

disclaimers

the site, the archive, and the x402 endpoints are provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. we don't guarantee uptime, availability, or that any dataset is complete.

limitation of liability

to the maximum extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, and our total liability for any claim is capped at what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

changes

we can update these terms; the current version always lives at this url and carries its last-updated date. material changes get a note on the front page. keep using the paid services after a change means you accept it.

governing law

these terms are governed by the laws of the state of california, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. any dispute arising from these terms or the services goes to the state or federal courts located in california.

contact

questions about these terms: use the contact field of the press release submission endpoint and mark it "legal" — it reaches the publication directly.
